Welcome to another blog post. It is the beginning of a new month which means a review of last month. January. Today I was supposed to publish my Bullet Journal Set Up for February that is still coming up, but before I do that I wanted to publish this first.
As you might be able to tell from the title I wanted to reflect on my month. This is a very self indulgent post, but I’d figure it would be a productive one since I can pin point what worked out and what did not and hope that you, yes you.
We should embrace our strengths and our flaws and learn from them.
What Worked Out
01. Completed reading, “You are a badass at making money” by Jen Sincero.
I purchased her book “You Are A Badass First” I had heard so many great things about it and I got to the first three chapters And then it got wet and I went back to repurchase it I found this one and I finally finished it and would highly recommend it. I have a future post highlighting some of my favorite parts. Which is a little difficult because the whole book was so good I’m basically summarizing the whole book. But overall really good and couldn’t recommend it anymore.
I’m actually going to be reading “You Are A Badass This Year” If you read any of these two books. What was your favorite part?
02. Budgeting
This year, one of my biggest goals was to learn better ways to handle my money. I found Dave Ramseys videos watch more and more. In December, I was thinking how can I budget my money to travel? I started up looking videos on the topic and watched maybe 40 videos in two days and have since completed Baby Step 1 and now I am in Baby Step 2 and know that this one is going to take a little longer, but I have to be able to do it. To be able to accomplish all of my other goals. That is another book that is on my list to read for this year.
03. Meal Prepping
One of the ways that I found that I could cut back my money was through meal prepping. I found that the majority of my money was going through eating out. So, for January, I sought to meal pep and also to save money doing it. I would meal pep Sundays and on Thursdays and it was so easy for the entire week to be able to know what I was eating and not focus too much time on it.
What can I improve on
01. Still working on my morning routine
My goal for 2019 was to focus on three goals for three months throughout the year and waking up early was one of my goals as you might know. This was a tricky one, as it usually is. I did end up waking up early for the first two weeks in a half and then afterwards I feel off the wagon. When I do wakeup early I find that I’m really productive and I wake up in a really good mood and I like to be consistent with my habits. However, I still don’t feel completely confident in this goal. It is something that I continue to strive for every single day.
02. Fitness
For the past two years came January I was really motivate to workout and even through the weather was uber cold I found myself working out. Granted, I have feeling because now I am sharing my room so there is less space to workout in, but this year I feel less and less motivated to workout. Even my evening walks have stopped. Which I really miss, but by the time I get out it’s super dark and all I want to do is hop in the shower and then my bed. I’ll keep working on this goal though because I feel great after working out.
Those were my reflections on the month. I always look forward to a fresh start. I love the feeling of a new week and a new month ahead because it is endless possibilities to continue to work on ourselves and make ourselves better.
