August Planning & Reset

Happy August! I’m excited because this month is a reminder that change is coming and that change is good. We are a couple of weeks away from Fall, my favorite season. Before I get ahead of myself though this blog post is about planning for August.

JULY RECAP

This was my hot girl summer. While I did work in the summer, I had such a blast from going to Disneyland to going to Hawaii with my friends.

It had been a while since I had been in Hawaii and being back in its magical waters felt like returning home. I went for a short week and therefore I didn’t get to finish everything from my wishlist so that gives me another reason to go back 🙂

My goal was to publish more content for that month and unfortunately I only published one blog post.

I adjusted my schedule for this month so that I publish on Mondays instead of Fridays which gives me the weekend to work on content.

JULY FAVORITES

-Hawaiian Pineapple

-Muji Gel Ink Ballpoint Pen in 0.38

-Mildliner Highlighters

-Stationary at Target

-Instant Whipped Coffee

AUGUST HABITS & GOALS

Goal/Habit  – wakeup at 4:00 a.m. daily

This is my first year teaching and one of my biggest goals is to get to work early so that I can find a good work/life balance. Instead of staying later after school.

By waking up (extremely early) I have the time to slow down in the morning instead of rushing out the door and can focus on centering myself before starting the day.

Goal/Habit – become a runner

Maybe its because I have been seeing more and more TikTok videos of people running that it has inspired me to go on runs again.

Due to the heat we have going on right now It is so hard to go out and run. So starting now with baby steps and waiting for cooler months to run is really helpful.

Set up my classroom/First month of teaching

This month my biggest goal is to set up routines with my students and transition into teaching as smoothly as possible. Before that though, I have to start setting up my classroom and remind myself it’s okay if it’s a work in progress. Its so easy to get caught up with buying so much stuff. I want to start small and gather things that will bring joy to my classroom and not stress.

Goal/Habit – Routines

While I am always up for some spontaneous fun. I think for now, especially with this busy month ahead, I want to create routines that are simple but effective. I can sometimes overdue things and overwhelm myself. My goal is to be easy and gentle on myself while being productive and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

AGENDAS

These are the things that I am using this month to help me keep on track and I can go further into each agenda in future posts.

Brain Dump Notebook

I have this notebook where I like to write down and reflect on what worked this month and what didn’t. I also like to reflect on my goals and since it is August we are nearing a new season which means going back to those goals I set at the beginning of the year and seeing how much I have accomplish and how much more I have to accomplish.

With this notebook there are no rules. I write down my thoughts without hesitation

Day Designer

I call this one my home agenda. It is we’re most of my ideas a written down. This is my second year purchasing this notebook and let me tell you I love it. I love the one page a day concept especially as someone who loves to write. Sometimes I do wish there was more space for writing.

Dream Life

This is not your typical agenda with daily or weekly spread. This is my second year purchasing this planner and it is something that I will be planning on purchasing in the future. It is filled with so much for every aspect of your life and achieving your goals. With this planner I was able to achieve the goal of punching my home and being clear about the things that I wanted.

Calendar – Sugar & Paper

Ive always liked having a big calendar pages because I like to look at the whole month at a glance and while I love my Day Designer the large one is not portable and I tend to leave it at home, but taking this Calendar with me allows me to jot down important events and look at it from a birds eye view.

Remember why you started

This agenda is from the same brans as the Dream Life Planner. It focuses more on health and while I tried it and have found some pages useful. It was not for me. However, those few pages that I found useful I am going to use those this month to keep track of my health goals.

Budgeting notebook

This is another planner from the same brand as the Day Designer and the Remember why you started Planner and this was another of those planners that I had high hopes for in the beginning. However, there are a couple of pages that are useful and will be using them for budgeting this month.

Teacher Agenda

While I told myself that I had plenty of agenda’s at home and that I did not need another one. I caved and bought a teacher agenda. I couldn’t resist a good cover. I will report back at the end of the month and see how much I used it and loved it. Stay tuned!

That is it for this article, let me know are you a paper agenda person or do your prefer digital? If so, share what is your favorite agenda and why?
