Crisp morning air, a gentle breeze of leaves gliding across the floor, or the sweet smell of warm scents around. If there is something that I can count on to bring me joy, It is the changing of seasons specially to Fall. As a Fall baby, I have always loved this season. It is the one time in my life that feels the most memorable to me. Celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving with family, my birthday or the season of going back to school.
My love for this season became more amplified when I started with various traditions of decorating, buying a signature pumpkin spice latte, or pulling out cozy sweaters, and scarfs for the season. In college, I discovered content creators like Kayln Nicholson and felt inspired to be intentional with the seasons.
I have always used August as a stepping stone to the Fall Season. Here are some “traditions” of things that I like to do to get me into the Fall spirit. While it is still technically summer and it’s been over 100 degrees where I live, in spirit I am looking forward to the Fall Transition.

Taylor Swifts – Folklore Album

The iconic moment that is Folklore. I love this album because it’s so warm and yet so rich and filled with that nostalgic feeling of transitioning to Fall. On Spotify, I like to make an August Playlist and one of the very first songs that I would add is from the Folklore album. It’s so warm and comforting like being in a lake house, out on the front lawn in front of a fire pit wrapped in a cardigan and just enjoying the stillness and the sounds of nature from crickets to the waves of the lake nearby.
Ps. I have a fall playlist and start playing it around this time to get me into the Fall spirit. Creating a Fall playlist with music that makes me feel nostalgic or brings back good memories.
2. Comfort Shows – C-dramas

This year was a C-drama summer for me. I started to get into C-dramas and I can see myself really expanding this for the fall. I can make a whole separate video on which ones are my favorites and what I would rate them. But just having a comfort show to watch over a new seasonal transition helps me immerse into a whole new world.
I also have made it a tradition to watch Twilight Series (The first one is my favorite), Parent Trap, and I love the Turkish Drama Dolunay. I am looking forward to The Lament of Autumn, which should air this Fall. Another C-drama that is currently airing and is great for the fall season is The Early Spring.
3. Summer to Fall Transition

It’s definitely an interesting time transitioning from summer to Fall. In my head it feels like Nantucket, New England. Chilly beach walks and you can just feel the transition. Even though I do not live near a beach city to get into the feels. I do want to bring that cozy warmth with me into my life. By changing little things in my life.
4. Getting my house ready
Getting my house ready with fall decor pieces or adding fall like scents around the house makes it feel more welcoming. Everyone talks about Spring Cleaning, but rarely do I hear people talk about cleaning for Fall. Especially because I do not like cleaning for Winter time. It’s more of a hibernating season.
Not just decor, but making space for new things. With the seasons changing it’s important to make space for the new.
5. Planning my Halloween costume

Transitioning to Fall means planning out my Halloween costume. This year, I want to dress up as Fan Changyun from the C-drama Pursuit of Jade. So, right now I’m budgeting for this costume and buying what I need.
6. Birthday Planning

Birthdays tend to be bitter sweet, because it’s a reminder that I am getting older and also because I don’t tend to go all out and a part of me wants to. This year, I want to go to Disneyland in October. It has been something that I have wanted to do for a while.
7. Fall scents

I am someone who uses scents, colors, etc. to create a mood. I love having scents that create a memory for a special occasion. For Fall, in college my go to scent was Endless Twilight by Bath and Body works and when I smell that scent it sends me right back to college and reminds me of football games, The Vampire Diaries, and my late teens early twenties.
I have a huge selection of Fall Scents that I want to use up before I go out and buy anything else.
What is a tradition that you have for transitioning from Summer to Fall?
