February Monthly Goal Update

February Monthly Goal Update

Hello Gorgeous,

Another month has passed and here we are again writing about my goals for this month and how much I have accomplished.

If you don’t know, I started a series on this blog where I will keep you updated monthly on how my goals for the year are going and how much I have accomplished from them and what I am learning along the way.

I think it will be really cool to look back at the end of the year and do a summary of the things that worked and what didn’t work with my goals.

Here is last month’s (Januarys Reflection) if you would like to check it out.

This year, if you read my new years goals post, you will know that I decided to test out focusing on breaking my goals every three months.

Turning my goals into habits and realities is the biggest goal of mine, so I want to be efficient with the method I take tackling them.

Let’s get on to the goal and my goal settings

01. Budgeting and Finances

It’s only February, but I can tell you that I can do so much better when it comes to budgeting. I have allotted of goals that require dolla dolla bills, like starting an emergency fund and paying off my student loans.

I wrote last month about me budgeting eating out. So, I bought a notebook, super inexpensive and small so that I can carry it around with me everywhere I go and write down my expenses for the entire month and see where I can cut back on.

A goal for the next three months its to cut back on eating out. I noticed the last two months that that’s where most of my money tends to go towards. So by making smarter choices and keeping my pantry and fridge stock, I will be less tempted at eating out and throwing all of my money down the drain.

02. Remodeling my bedroom

Because of the new month, I wanted to give my room a new energy. I’m obsessed with energy and feng shui. Which is why at the start of the month of March I decided to move my furniture. Add new things to my room like flowers, new pillows, or art pieces all in the hopes of bringing new energy to my room.

A goal for this year is to upgrade my furniture. Mostly a new desk and a new bed.

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect desk. “Perfect” as in fits in my budget. Is either white or wood and has a lot of space for me to put all of my things in and spacious to work in.

I love laying out all of my papers and agendas and coffee mugs. So spacious is probably the most important.

03. Health and Fitness

Aww, the cliche New Years Resolution. But there is a reason why it’s so popular. We care about our health, yes people do it for the looks too, but health and fitness are intertwined you cant have one without the other.

This month I choose to do a 100 squats challenge a day, and let me just tell you, IT WORKS!
The next day after doing it I woke up super sore.

I tend to spread them out. For instance, I’ll do 25 squats in the morning when I wake up, then I’ll do the other 25 when I’m brushing my teeth in the morning. After, I’ll do 25 for lunch and another 25 before I go to bed.

Not only does it make it more do-able, but I actually FEEL it tightening my glutes and my legs.

04. Traveling

When I thought of traveling, I always thought of exotic places like Bali or Bora Bora, and not that those places are not going to be possible for me in the future, but recently, on Instagram and on other social media platforms I’ve come across pictures from beautiful places in the states and I’m just like, I want to be there right now!

Just this Saturday, I went with my roommates to a lake nearby and it was really fun, even my little puppy Hazel had some fun running around. It was relaxing just to sit around the bonfire and watch the sunset and watch the stars gradually rise.

This upcoming weekend, I plan on taking my puppy on a trail walk and exploring more of the city around me. Things like that are making me excited to explore my city more, and I hope that you find the similar excitement of getting out of your comfort zone and just seeing whats out there in your own town or city. It just takes a new to see new perspectives.

05. Organization and Time Management

I have made it a goal this year, to spend 30 minutes a day on email and decluttering paper.

I was reading this article about decluttering and cleaning out your spaces and how that shifts energies. Which is why it’s so important that I remain organize and on top of everything.

For time management, I want to focus on using my time wisely and focusing on doing things that I love.
To do all of this, in my agenda I wrote down as part of my schedule “Declutter for 30 minutes” or “Spend xx time decluttering my email. ”

06. My Blog

If you haven’t already taken a look around my blog, I highly encourage you to. I’ve actually been posting a lot more and just really having fun with writing and making up content.

I’ve come down to the schedule of posting up 2x per week on Sundays and Mondays. I’m still working and becoming better at creating fun content and posting consistently.

I’ve actually started looking to new web design and I want to update the way my blog looks.

I started learning about photography and using Lightroom. I even started budgeting to save up for a DSLR camera.

Photography has become a hobby that I look forward to doing more often. I started getting into the mindset of a photographer. There is a pretty flower wall where I work at, and I’m there thinking, “ooohh this would be a great place for a photoshoot, the lighting, and the background are great!”

It’s become a hobby that I’m looking forward to learning little by little.

You can check out some of the images I’ve been playing around with on my Instagram.

So there you have it, ladies, my goals so far and what I have accomplished in the span of two months.

March is the third month in which I have been working on my goals. Which means at the end of each quarter I get to treat myself to somethin’ somethin’ If I kept up with my goals. So I’m looking forward to my reward. I’ll explain it in my next month Reflection post.

I’m really excited to see next month how much I have accomplished and what I can continue to work on and what I have made a major improvement on.
