Welcome to another blog post! Today we are talking health and making healthy choices, but before we do that don’t forget to check out my last blog post which I will link here.
I’ve been watching more and more health and fitness videos. I feel like the plus side of feeling really down is the motivation to pick yourself up from your boot straps (or in my case, sneakers) and keep on moving.
This past week I decided to be more conscious about my food choices. So I created a healthy grocery list with lots of veggies, meats, and fruits as well as some snacks that would help me keep on track of being healthy.
I do believe that what you eat should be real food, food that nourishes you. I’ve talked about my journey of body positivity and being kind to yourself and accepting yourself.

MY WHY
I’ve been on this rocky journey when it comes to health from being a complete and total newbee to a someone who takes 3 classes of yoga every single semester of college.
It really started when my health was degrading. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in 2015 and haven’t really felt like my normal old self in a long time some of the side effects are constant fatigue, dry skin, brain fogginess among other things.
Which is why being on this health and fitness journey has come to mean so much to me. I wanted to give my body the change to feel normal again.
I am currently seeing my physician for it, but I also want to do my part to just feel better about my health.
SOME WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
There are so many times that I started something and not for the right reasons. Not saying that going to the gym to get that physic that you always wanted is a bad thing, it isn’t.
But really loving yourself, loving your body already the way that is and being grateful for all the things that it can do. Starting from there and seeing health and fitness not as a chore or something that feels force, but instead something that is overall helpful for my body.
I’m the first to admit that I feel like I should run before I could walk and one of the biggest lessons that I have learned is that starting small and creating small habits are so vital to sticking to being healthy and making it an everyday part of your life.
For, Instance I wrote down that one of my goals for this year, like most other people is to get fit and workout and get toned etc. and I started really intense with wanting to go to the gym 3-4x a week when I hadn’t even built the habit of making a conscious choice to take the small steps to getting to my goal.
So instead I made a conscious choice to work on walking every single day. I have a little puppy and I feel most motivated when I am walking her and I’m also making the small steps to taking small steps towards my goals.
FAVORITE PEOPLE TO FOLLOW FOR HEALTH AND FITNESS
If you are looking for some people to motivate you in your health in fitness journey these are the girls that I watch religiously. First, Cambria Joy, I love her content and have been watching her since she lived with her parents in her green bedroom and have seen her grow and it’s really exciting to see how far she has come in her health and fitness journey. I love watching her take her fitness to more than just the tradition “gym” I love watching how much fun she has walking Mister in her hikes or beach walks.
Secondly, I’ve been on a Sarahs Day binge lately. I love her new content but every so often I find myself going back to watch her old videos when she had broken up with her boyfriend and the gym was her life. I feel like I can really relate to her at that time. She used the gym as something to help her when she had gotten out of a long term relationship. Her videos are for girls that want a little more intense workouts.
Last, but not least is Kayln Nicholson, I love her videos on meditation and yoga they are my favorite because they inspire me. She shows that you don’t need to be on some fancy yoga studio to get a really nice stretch in your own bedroom and her bedroom is complete and total #goals. Not only is she an inspiration for fitness videos but overall in life. I know that if you check her out you’ll fall in love with her content.
There is it my reasoning for focusing on my health and fitness goals more this month and moving forward.
