Hopefully they provide guidance for you if you are just starting a blog. I started this creative project of mine back in 2016 and I love sharing with you my journey. Enjoy!

01. Canva

Canva is a great resource because it helps me out with creating templets to share on social media. They have so many great features on it is really easy to navigate. I use it for my blog, usually for Pinterest. I love it because it is super easy to navigate and if you sign up you can upload your theme color, your logo, and your own font.

I use it mainly for Pinterest to create templets such as this:

02. Pinterest

Speaking of Pinterest, it is the “social media” where I get most of my traffic to my blog from. Pinterest is more of a search engine because the pin lives there FOREVER, so If someone types in something like a recipe for something and they click on the templet that I uploaded they will be redirected to my blog.

I always loved Pinterest and have used it as an inspiration board for fashion, beauty, home decor etc. As a blogger I find that it is an amazing tool to share your content and it gets the most views then other social media platforms.

Also, I learned so much about blogging from Pinterest and it is one of the reasons why I started to blog.

03. Grammerly

This is a great resource when you have writers block or you have to make sure that it is grammatically correct. It’s a site that catches misspelled words etc. I use it to make sure that what I am writing makes some sense.

Sometimes when I have writers block I write without thinking if it makes sense and then when I go to Grammerly I focus on making coherent sentences.

04. Lightroom

It is a program that I use to edit my photos. I pay $10 a month which is not bad at all and it includes other program like Spark and Photoshop. I love using it because it really makes a world of a difference with photos. I’m also really interested in photography and Lightroom is worth every penny.

I’m still learning but find that it is an easy and fun process to transform your pictures. Either for your blog, Instagram, or Pinterest.

05. Lightroom Presets

Another great resource are presets, they are super helpful because you get consistency with your pictures, they are really helpful with using Lightroom. Because they are program to put the same settings for all the pictures which is how you get that consistency. I purchased mine thorough Etsy and there are so many options to choose from.

06. DSLR Camera

The best equipment is the one that you already have. However, if you want to step up your game with photography a mirrorless camera or a DSLR are a great way to go. They don’t have to break the bank either, mine is a CanonRebel 3Ti, I bought it off of Amazon, refurbished, and it was around $300.

I would recommend you check out facebook market place for people selling cameras near you. I’ve seen cameras and lenses being sold for a fraction of the price of one bought brand new.

I’m still getting used to my camera and it’s settings, but they are a great tool to invest in your blog. Later on once you have learned to use it well you can update to better model and continue to do that.

When I had started blogging I didn’t know where to start or what resources were out there for me. I hope that these tips are useful and helpful with your own blog journey.
