Hey lovely,
Welcome back to another blog post! I’ve been writing more and more. Looking for topics to talk about on my blog. I recently was reading some blog posts about why people started their blogging journey and I always find it so fascinating. Especially when they are big time bloggers that I look up to, and then they write about their journey how they started.
A BREIF STORY ON WHY I STARTED
For me, blogging was always something that others people did. I always wanted to start one of my own, but I didn’t think I had an interesting or cool life like all of the bloggers that I followed.
But then in the summer of 2016 I decided WHY not? So through lots of reading, through lots of endless nights I started my own blog. Not going to lie it was this excitement that I couldn’t explain. I wrote a few blog posts, but my perfectionist self wouldn’t allow me to go public. The blog remained stagnant for that entire year and then it was 2017 I was graduating college and I felt this dread come over me, I had never felt so lost in my life. Yes, I was excited to finally be graduating college, but I was so confused on where I wanted to take my next step.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
I’m not saying that I am some big time blogger and that I have all the answers. All I am saying is that I have learned so much from my experience of just trying. Through this blog I use it as my creative outlet, to express myself. Is it perfect? not even close, but every single day I show up and I’m here creating content that excites me and makes me happy. If I start a blog, at this point I was spending a lot of time on the internet trying to connect with other people about their expenrice of feeling lost after college, not even after college just in life. Because that is how I felt.
It’s exciting seen the journey, its exciting seeing people have thousands of followers and even more exciting is the beginning of their journey that got them there. I think it makes me connect with that person more and thus feel more connected to their content.
There are people who started for good reasons, they were intrigued by it and they started and gradually they were able to build an audience. What I am trying to say is that you don’t need a reason to start a blog. The beauty of staring a blog is you are in complete and total control of it. It’s like staring a business you are in full control of the business you are your own boss, you take the success and you also have to take the risks and the poor choices that you make. Similarly, in a blog no one has control over that you.
That is so fascinating to me that you have total control over a blog or a business. The creativity is endless.
I started my blog because I felt lost and I just needed a space to share my struggle with other people and what I was learning along the way. Even if no one ever reads it, it’s something that I enjoy regardless. If someone does end up reading it and they feel connected to it, then that’s just icing on the cake because I helped someone who was going through a though time in their life and that makes me really happy.
If you are interested I did write my very own story of why I decided to start a blog and my journey starting a blog which I will link here.
And maybe you read the title and thought “Why should I write a blog?”
Although the answer is that you don’t need a reason to start something. I was able to start my blog because I felt lost and alone and I wanted to connect with other people who probably felt the same way too.
TO CONNECT WITH OTHERS
Words are mighty. Which is when I am going through some though times I feel comforted by writing on my journal. I know it sounds a bit cliche, but this blog is a little bit like my online journal. I’m writing about things that interest me. If someone wants to come along for the ride and read that’s a bonus.
But really, how awesome is it that people that you have never meet before get to really know you. That is the fascinating part about the internet, but with a blog as opposed to any social media platform people really get to know you for you.
I hope this helps gives you the encouragement to start anything that you have been interested in. If you have any questions about blogging let me know in the comments below
