Happy February 1st. This month is filled with so many amazing things ahead, like the Benito Bowl. I’m so excited, it’s marked down in my Calendar.
Monthly Rating
Before we even talk about February and Goal setting, it’s time to do a recap of January 2026. My overall rating for this month is 6.5 out of 10. I am glad that I took it slow, January was about resting and allowing myself to rest without guilt. Mostly, when I start the new year it’s hitting the ground running, but this year, I didn’t even walk. I just pulled out a lawn chair and sat down. It’s metaphorical, but you get the idea.
January Highs
I always try my best to look for moments of gratitude in my life. Even though the month was not perfect, there were glimpses of light. For example, getting to try a new coffee palace that I have been meaning to try for a while. Roaming around an antique shop or getting lost in a new tv show. I was proud of myself for not bringing work home. I was proud of myself for not feeling as guilty for not starting the ground running (still a work in progress).
January Lows
I didn’t pass my Real Estate Exam this month and I took the day to mourn not passing it and after I signed up for the exam again (so not a total loss). I had not been sleeping well due to my Anxiety medication. I wasn’t sleeping enough and therefore was exhausted all of the time. I was struggling to find balance between my personal life and work life. I would get home after a long day of work and would go on social media and felt horrible afterwards. I also was not exercising due to the bad weather. Just overall not my strongest month.
Expenses
I looked at my finances and boy did I go overboard. Considering this month I stayed home most of the time, it was shocking to see how I was spending. A lot of it is necessary spending like rent, groceries, gas, car maintenance. Nonetheless, it was still more money going out than going towards my savings. I did not put money towards my savings.
Monthly Favorites

- Books – I started reading Silver Elite, and I have enjoyed it so far. I like the setting of a war college, enemy to lovers, and resistance. I have five chapters left before I completely finish it. Follow me on Fable to see how I rate it.
- Music – My music taste this month is a little bit all over the place. I have been listening to more Olivia Dean (Like everyone else). I have been listening to Meghan Skidels – Out of Control, which isn’t a full song, and I love it. She is a member of Katseye. Girl, Get up by Doechii, and SZA.
- Film – I watched mainly Kdramas. Starting with Can This Love Be Translated? I have seen people have mixed reviews about it. I enjoyed it. I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. It was not the worst I have seen. I loved the chemistry between the characters. The story line was a bit challenging to follow. I’m rewatching My Demon. It’s just a comfort show of mine.
- Creativity – I printed out some coloring pages and started to color as a hobby. It’s been fun, at the end of the day my reward is to eat an ice cream and color while putting soft music as background.
January Habits

My strongest habit was skin care. I moisturized daily and it made my skin really smooth. Also, using things that I already have. Like body sprays and lotions that I had accumulated and not used over the years. I am being intentional about using everything I have before going out to shop for items. And I did a decent job at that this month.
February Goals

- Health and Wellness – I want to focus on my health by eating every 2-3 hours and eating a Thyroid diet. That means cutting out processed sugars, gluten free, and dairy free. The latter is always the hardest. I also want to take up a Pilates Challenge. Also, going on more walks with my dog Hazel. I used to be really good about it, but have fallen out of the habit of doing that.
- Beauty – keeping in theme with my habits from last month. I will continue to focus on my skin care. I am crossing my fingers that this month my braces get taken off. Crossing my fingers. I also want to dress more internationally and have fun with my hair.
- Real Estate – It is time for me to pass this real estate exam. I signed up for it again on 2/19 and I need to pass it this time around. So, my goal is to create flashcards of the vocabulary and take practice quizzes everyday and score 90 percent consistently.
What was a highlight for January? and What are your goals for February, let me know in the comments.
