January Reflection 2018

January Reflection 2018

Happy February

I feel like I always say this every month. But HONESTLY were did January go? I want to keep doing these every month as a reflection of my year and my goals. It’s a good way for me to keep myself in check.

Here is how my monthly progress has gone so far with my goals:

01. First, I decided to return to school for my credential.

I was going back and forth between this decision, after talking to my mom (my truest confidential!) I decided that this is something I want to do. It’s a bit intimidating not going to lie, going back to school. But I’m going to give it a shot.

02. I also want to focus on remodeling my bedroom.

I love nothing more than spending my weekends at Marshalls, Home Goods, or Target. That is where you will find me. I also went shift shopping and have purchased a few books. Not only are they decorative (A project I have for the future) But they are also good books to read. A friend of mine gave me a candle (which I’m in LOVE) with. It smells so good and nothing makes me happier than candles. I’ve been holding off on burning it, but let’s be honest, it won’t take long before I’m Burning it.

03. Focus more on my overall health and fitness.

Maybe it’s the weather, but this one has become quite difficult. I get home from work and it’s so dark outside that I don’t want to go out. All I want to do is stay indoors and curl up with a cup of coffee and a good book.

I need to make a point of adding this goal to my agenda that I don’t forget to complete it and work towards it more often.

My short term goal is at least to show up to working out Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

I’m also focusing on drinking more water daily. Taking a water bottle with me so that I don’t forget to stay hydrated.

04. Becoming an early bird

I genuinely feel like the reason successful people are so successful is because that they are morning people.

It’s hard to balance it all, which is why I feel like waking up early gives me that extra time, if not the motivation of feeling like I can conquer whatever I want when the world is still sleeping.

Which is why I find morning routines, and building healthy habits and waking up early so fascinating. I’ve actually done quite with this one. I tend to wake up at 6:30 am which for some people might be early, but not for others.

My goal this year is to wake up at 5:00 am every morning consistently and build a habit out of it.

Because of work I’m forced to wake up early and I want to wake up a whole hour and a half earlier, and small baby increments should help.

I’ve done a post on this before. “Morning Routine” But as my schedule changes with work and school than my morning routine changes a little as well.

05. Travel and Explore More

Ah! the good old New Years Goal. This year, I want to travel more and explore more and just learn more. I love to research new places to visit and be in.

This year, I want to make it a goal to build meaningful friendships and go on road trips. I love spending time with friends, which is why It’s so important to me that we build memories and have great stories to tell.

Like I said, a goal of mine this year is to travel more, but I find it more motivational to do it when I have a friend to tag along with. (Any one out there want to be my travel buddy??!!)

06. Building Friendships

I feel like now that I’m getting older I realize how difficult it is to make friendships which is  why I made this one of my goals for the year.

In particular, I would like to have friends that are single. Its different being friends with someone who is in a relationship to someone who is single.

Especially because they are single and that way we have something in common.

07. Organization and Time Management

I’ve actually done really great with organization. I’ve organize most of my email and I’ve also cut down on so many papers that I had. (It also help’s that I don’t have papers coming in from school.) I notice that allot of my paper clutter came from school.

08. Reducing my debt and building an emergency fund

These are a bit though in terms of money. I do feel like I am learning allot though about managing my money better. This year, I want to make it a habit to use my money towards things that make me happy, travel for instance or things that decorate my room with.

Above all, I want to build an emergency fund that will hopefully be a cushion for the future.

09. My Blog

I have in my agenda written down a content calendar and when I’m going to post and what content inserts me and what content I want to write.

I also carry with me a notebook were I write down things that are inspiring me and this that help me create beautiful content that I love.

I’ve subscribed to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom, I’ve had lots of fun posting on Instagram (don’t forget to follow me(link))

I feel like unintentionally my theme has become a cool tone with hints of blue.

I’m still having lots of fun with it and I’m learning more and more about using social media to promote my blog. Not going to lie it’s a little strange, promoting yourself, I mean.

It takes a little getting used to, but its fun so far, so Im going to continue doing these. I’m still working on getting to a consistent schedule for Instagram.

There you go! my monthly update on how my goals are going so far. This month is slowly coming to an end, and its so strange because It feels like I was just celebrating New Years a week ago.

If your invested in following my journey monthly on my goals, don’t forget to stick around.

I post content on my blog Sundays and Mondays.

Comment below what your progress is so far with your new years goals! Until Next Time, Love.
